President
Peter has a bachelors degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Mineral Processing from McGill University. He worked for five years with the comminution and expert system groups at Minnovex Technologies (now SGS) before joining Phelps Dodge (now Freeport McMoRan). During his five years at Freeport he was general foreman at the Bagdad copper/moly concentrator, lead technical inventor for a new moly autoclave process, and as mill operations superintendent at the Cerro Verde concentrator, was a key member of the ramp-up team that took the HPGR-based concentrator to design production levels. He has invented new tests for geometallurgical profiling of ore bodies, published papers on geometallurgy, process control, and process plant design & modeling, and received several awards for his work in mineral processing. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Arizona and resides in Santiago, Chile with his family. He is fluent in english and spanish.
Roger Amelunxen, P.Eng
Principal Consulting Metallurgist
Roger has a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from McGill University. He has over thirty five years experience in mineral processing of base metals. Work experience includes plant operation, management of operations, project engineering and most recently, consulting. Most experience has been related to extraction processes of Cu, Mo, Pb, Zn and Ag/Au sulfide ores. In the last 8 years, consulting services have focused on the execution of geometallurgical test work, feasibility studies for large tonnage operations, plant optimization projects through audits and the use of in-house dynamic simulator models for grinding and flotation. Roger is a registered professional engineer in British Columbia, Canada, and resides in Squamish with his family. He is fluent in english and spanish. For more information visit www.aminpro.com.
